The Archdiocese of St. Louis was the first Catholic diocese in the US to have a dedicated iPhone app to promote the diocese's parishes, news, and a community of prayer. When I was working in the Archdiocese's Office of Web Development, I noticed that many people were beginning to use iPhones and other smartphones as their primary means to keep discover businesses, keep in touch, and even browse the web.
The Jesuit Conference liked my work on the Catholic STL app for iPhone, and asked if I could help them build a similar app for both iOS and Android. It was somewhat challenging to get everything ported over to Android from iOS, but building on my experience with the Catholic News Live app for Android, I was able to get this project done on time, with an app that works very well on both platforms.
